UK Tour Spring 2017 - Support Artists Wanted

I'm playing out this spring. UK test subjects needed for the unsafe experimental trials of new songs (and plenty of old ones obviously). Check the Live Dates page for all the info.

Support Artists Wanted...
I've decided to throw open the support slots for the gigs to local musicians. I know how hard it is to get on good shows in your own city, because so many are sewn up by national agencies, sometimes on a pay-to-play basis. FTS.

To apply:
     1) Choose your closest city
     2) Find the facebook Event: Search facebook for “jon gomm live in [city]”, or click the link below
     3) On the Event page, post a link to a piece of your work on youtube/soundcloud, and a contact email address
     4) Please ask your friends to Like your post!

I will listen to as many entries as humanly possible starting at the top of the Event page, and choose one. Solo artists, bands, poets, comedians, magicians... anything welcome. :)

Smallprint: My choice will be subject to agreement by my manager, my booking agent, the promoter of the concert and the venue. The support artist will then have to agree any and all terms with the promoter of the show. I reserve the right to withdraw the show at any time. Basically this is fun for me, hopefully a great experience for them, and helps me get the word out with local musos that the gig is happening. :)

My Face, Your Local News-stand

I've been on not one but two magazine covers recently. You can see me glowering at passers-by from the shelves of your local store, on the cover of Acoustic magazine. What a surreal honour. I felt kinda nervous when I went to buy my own copy.

There's an interview with me, and another one with George Lowden about the designing and building of my signature model guitar. And there's a lesson, with some of my riffs transcribed. If you missed it, you can still buy a copy here.

And I'm also very grateful to be the first ever acoustic artist on the cover of Guitar Interactive magazine. In this one, there's 5 videos of me playing songs on my signature model, including an unplugged (i.e. recorded straight into a microphone) version of my old instrumental tune Topeka, which I'm really happy with. And there's a really in depth review of the guitar too.

Happy reading, don't get a paper cut.

I just wanna play you this thing...

New video: Watch me play my song Afterglow

You've never heard an acoustic trip-hop song with an eight-finger-tapping solo before, or if you have then I quit. I can’t tell you what this song is about because it’s pure sleaze and my mum will see this.

If you like it, share it. The internet needs you right now. Drown out the bickering with music.

New signature model guitar!

I'm bursting with pride to finally announce that the Jon Gomm Hybrid Top Signature model is now available from Lowden Guitars.

It's much more than just a replica of Wilma, my beloved Lowden. It's a guitar with every aspect tailored specifically for the modern player, including the world's first spruce and cedar layered soundboard which I've dubbed the Hybrid Top, for added resilience and epic, deep, powerful tone. I REALLY REALLY LOVE THIS GUITAR!

New video Temporary out now

Links so you can spread the love :

Temporary is the 5th release from the Live In The Acoustic Asylum series. The lyrics are blurry, flickering childhood memories of being with my mum at a really difficult time in our lives. The message, if there is one, is: Emotions pass. So, this one’s for my empowering and inspirational friend, Elizabeth Gomm.
